மூன்று வருடங்களுக்கு மேலாக, கேப்பாப்பிலவு, முல்லைதீவிலுள்ள தமிழ்க் குடும்பங்கள், இராணுவம் கையகப்படுத்தியுள்ள தமது காணிகளை மீட்கத் தொடர்ச்சியாகப் போராடி வருகிறார்கள்.

2009 இல் போரின் கடைசிப் பகுதியில் இடம்பெயந்த இந்தக் குடும்பங்கள், இடைத்தங்கல் முகாம்களிலிருந்து 2012 இல் தமது சொந்த நிலங்களுக்குத் திரும்பியும் தமது காணிகள் ராணுவத்தினரால் ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதையே கண்டார்கள். கேப்பாப்பிலவானது தற்போது முல்லைத்தீவின் இராணுவமயமாக்கம் அதிகமுள்ள பகுதியின் நடுவிலிருக்கிறது. அடையாளம் கொள்கை ஆய்வுக்கான நிலையம் மற்றும் PEARL வெளியிட்ட அறிக்கையின்படி முல்லைத்தீவிலுள்ள ராணுவம்-மக்களுக்கிடையிலான விகிதாசாரம் 1:2. இராணுவத்தினராலும் புலனாய்வாளர்களினாலும் தொடர்ச்சியாகத் தொந்தரவுக்கு உள்ளாக்கப்படும் இச் சமூகத்தினர், தமது நிலங்களைக் கையளிக்கக் கேட்டு இன்னும் தொடர்ந்து துணிவுடன் போராடி வருகிறார்கள்.

இந்தக் காணொளியில், கேப்பாப்பிலவில் வசிக்கும் ஒரு பெண், தனது சொந்தக் காணியுடன் சேர்த்து தான் இழந்தவைகள் குறித்து தனது எண்ணங்களைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறார்.

For nearly two and a half years, the Tamil community of Keppapilavu, Mullaitivu has been protesting to reclaim their lands from military occupation.

The community which was displaced during the last phase of the war in 2009, returned from IDP camps in 2012 to see that their land had been occupied by the Sri Lankan military. Keppapilavu now sits at the centre of one of the most militarised areas in Mullaitivu. According to a report by the Adayaalam Centre for Policy Research and PEARL, the ratio of soldiers to civilians there is 1:2. The community has been harassed by soldiers, the CID and have endured horrid conditions, but continue to protest valiantly to return to their lands.
